If I went down to the store now to preorder it, just like before Ch1 came out, I'd get the reply "Guild Wars? What's that?"

*missed out on the beta weekends. All of them* T_T

why would you pre-order it before the pre-order packages come out? sounds silly to me.

Yeah if you pre-order now, you're probably getting just the Factions box, not the special pre-order package that's bound to become available soon.

If you preorder now, most stores will let you come back with proof of your preorder and give you the preorder package... but maybe thats just because I bug the store so much they let me have things.

yeah, forgot to mention that. The Game Stop that i preordered from said i can come back when they ship in the guild wars preorder packs and pick one up

Did you order you'rs offline if so how many Americen dollers. And does anyone know if there is an american pre-order site the sells the pre-order package?

I'm not going to until they put out official information on it. I almost got royally shafted by Best Buy when I pre-ordered the retail version. I'm sure a lot of others experienced the "Collector's/Deluxe Edition" mix-up.

I ordered mine offline at Game Stop for $5.00. (i'll still have to pay $50.00 later when i pick up the game).

Also, preorder packages for america haven't been released yet but the store that I bought mine at said that I can just come back when they get a shipment

What? I pre-ordered from Best Buy and still used it to get teh Collector's Edition. Or maybe I misunderstand what you are saying.

No, he probably means $30; itsw only £18 from play.com, which is approx. $30 (well, its a little more than $30, given current rates, but lets not be pedantic).
